Amped Up Electrical Adelaide is a small, owner-operated business. I'm Marcus, and I do the work myself. The person who quotes your job is the person who turns up and does it. Licensed electrician on every job — never handed off.
I look after small and medium businesses in inner Adelaide. Most of the work is the routine stuff that keeps a building safe and legal: testing, swap-overs and board work. We book the work in with you, around how your business runs. When the job is done, you get records you can hand to your landlord, your insurer or your strata manager.
Emergency lights and exit signs need routine testing. The Australian Standard for this is AS/NZS 2293.2, and it sets a six-monthly test. I run the test, write the results in your log book, and tell you which fittings failed. Failed batteries and fittings get replaced, and old exit signs can be swapped over to LED. Once you are on a schedule, the next test is booked in, so it does not slip.
In a workplace, the business is expected to have its safety switches tested regularly by a competent person. The Australian Standard that covers this is AS/NZS 3760. I do the push-button test and a timed trip test with a proper tester. You get a written record of each device, the date, the result and when the next test is due. Any safety switch that fails gets quoted for replacement.
Old fluorescent troffers and panels can be swapped for LED panels that sit in the same ceiling tile. High-bay lights in workshops and warehouses can be swapped for LED high-bays. Downlights in shops and offices are usually a simple swap. In common areas and car parks, sensor lights mean the lights are only on when someone is there. For bigger lighting jobs, see lighting installation.
A couple of photos is often enough to start a written quote.
A lot of commercial work happens at the board. I upgrade old circuit breakers to RCBOs, so one fault does not take out the whole tenancy. I label boards properly, so the next person knows what each circuit does. I work on 3-phase boards as well as single-phase. When a board is past saving, I quote to replace it. More on this at switchboard upgrades.
A breaker that keeps tripping, a section with no power, or a burning smell all stop a business. Emergency call-outs are genuinely 24/7. I find the cause, make it safe, and tell you plainly what needs fixing. If you smell burning, turn the power off at the main switch first if it is safe to do so, then call. See emergency electrician and fault finding.
When a shop or office has a refit, power and data points often need to move. I relocate them and connect equipment such as coffee machines, ovens and hot water units. I keep to small and medium jobs like these. I do not take on large new-build commercial wiring. If you need cameras in at the same time, see CCTV installation.
Fast, professional fault finding We had an ongoing electrical fault at our bakery in Linden that was tripping circuits and affecting equipment. Marcus from Amped Up Electrical Adelaide came out quickly, identified the issue straight away, and explained exactly what was causing the problem. He methodically fault-found the circuit, repaired the issue, and made sure everything was safe and compliant before leaving. Minimal downtime for the bakery, no unnecessary upselling, and very professional throughout. Really impressed with how thorough and tidy the work was. If you need an electrician who actually knows how to fault find properly, I highly recommend Marcus.
Marcus is professional, friendly and competent. He identified a significant issue with old electrical work in my house that I had no idea existed. I thoroughly recommend him
Had Marcus out to our place in Payneham South to mount a TV and install networking and WiFi access points. Top notch job and everything working great.
When you call, you speak to me. When the job is booked, it is me doing the work. Licensed electrician on every job — never handed off. The person who quotes the job is the person who does it.

We book a time with you. Tell us your quiet times and we plan the job around them. Work that needs the power off is planned ahead, so you know when it is going off and for roughly how long.
