I'm Marcus, the owner-operator behind Amped Up Electrical Adelaide. Greenacres sits close to my Vale Park base — a short run up North East Road — so it's one of the areas I get to quickly.
Greenacres is a well-established north-eastern suburb, built up mostly through the 1950s and '60s: solid brick veneer bungalows and villas on generous blocks, with unit and townhouse infill added over more recent decades along the main roads and side streets. North East Road runs along the edge of the suburb, with the Greenacres Shopping Centre as the local retail hub.
That mix of eras is exactly what shows up on the job: original 1950s-60s wiring and switchboards reaching the end of their practical life, boards with basic circuit breakers and no RCD protection at all, and houses now running ducted air conditioning, induction cooktops and home offices on circuits sized for a much lighter 1960s household. The newer unit infill brings its own set of jobs too — smaller switchboards, shared supply arrangements, and fit-out electrical for recent builds.
The postwar housing stock drives most of what comes up in Greenacres:
I haven't written up a Greenacres job yet, but a few streets over in Hampstead Gardens — which shares the same postwar brick housing stock — I was called out in March 2026 to look at a switchboard where the safety switch was doing more work than it should have been.
On inspection, the single RCD on the board was protecting more than three circuits at once, which isn't up to current standard and meant one nuisance trip could take out half the house. The fix was converting every circuit except the solar circuit over to individual Hager RCBO protection, with the board relabelled clearly to match the final layout and everything tested before I left. It's a textbook example of the kind of switchboard I see constantly across this pocket of the north-east — a board that was compliant when it went in decades ago and just hasn't kept pace with how the house is actually used now. I'd expect to find much the same thing behind plenty of Greenacres doors.
Every installation is owner-operated by Marcus. Clean work, quality components, compliant installations.
Marcus films real jobs and callouts on the tools — no actors, no stock footage. This is what the work actually looks like.
A lot of Greenacres' original 1950s-60s switchboards were fitted with basic circuit breakers and no RCD protection at all, so a fault can sit undetected until something trips hard or a circuit drops out completely. If the power's out, a safety switch won't reset, or something smells hot, that's an emergency call — not a wait-till-Monday job.

I personally handle every job from quote to completion. Licensed electrician on every job — never handed off. When you call, you speak to me. When I arrive in Greenacres, it's me doing the work.

A lot of them do. Homes built through the 1950s and '60s in Greenacres commonly still have their original circuit-breaker board with no RCD safety switch anywhere on the property, which falls well short of what's expected today. A quick look at the board usually tells me straight away.
Yes. With this much older housing stock in the area, rental compliance and safety switch checks are a regular part of the work I do in Greenacres, along with the upgrades that often follow.
Yes — the newer unit and townhouse developments around Greenacres still need proper switchboard and circuit work, just at a smaller scale than a standalone house. I plan the board and circuits around the space available.
Switchboard upgrades from old circuit-breaker boards to individual RCBO protection, safety switch installation, extra power points, and LED lighting upgrades are the jobs I see most often in Greenacres.
